  • Approval of the Prime Minister among is at 90% among Coalition supporters, and lower among Labor voters (49%) and Greens voters (36%). 59% of those intending to vote for a minor party or independent candidate approve of the PM.

  • There is a slight drop in the approval rating of the Prime Minister this month, with the 45% of participants approving of the job, down from 47% last month and 49% in September.
  • The vast majority of Coalition voters approve of Morrison’s performance as PM, with 83% approval (on par with 84% approval last month), compared to just 11% of Coalition voters who disapprove.
  • The main drivers of the decline in the PMs approval rating are men (approval now at 47%, down from 53% in October), Queensland residents (40%, down from 47% last month) and residents aged 18-34 (41%, down from 50% last month).

75% of Liberal/National voters approved of the job Malcolm Turnbull is doing, compared to 18% of ALP voters and 17% of Greens voters.

39% thought that Malcolm Turnbull would make a better Prime Minister (unchanged from last month), and 31% thought Bill Shorten would be better (up 3%).

The results were split by party, with 85% of Liberal/National voters saying that Malcolm Turnbull would be a better Prime Minister, and 61% of ALP voters saying the Bill Shorten would.

Greens voters preferred Bill Shorten (59% preferred) to Turnbull (12%).
