Overall, respondents thought that all groups were more likely to be worse off over the next 40 years.
In particular, 63% think retirees will be worse off and only 14% think they will be better off.
Men tended to be more optimistic overall than women and Liberal/National voters more optimistic than Labor and Greens voters.

Except for company profits, respondents believed all issues measured would get worse under the new Liberal/National Government. Expectations on each issue have declined since this question was asked immediately after the election. The largest declines have been for cost of living (net score down 22), the economy overall (-16), political leadership (-16), unemployment (-13) and trust in Government (-13).

30% of respondents think they would be personally better off financially if the Liberals were in Government and 32% think they would be financially worse off. 24% think it would make no difference to them financially.
Respondents aged 45-64 thought they would be more likely to be worse off (32% better/40% worse) while for those aged 65+, 47% thought they would be better off and 24% worse off.
